How do I search for programs?

1) Using the Search facility:
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account and navigate to the "Search" menu.
  • In the search form you have several filter options which can narrow down the list of advertisers.

Advanced Search.
You are able to filter these results by: Prepayment, website status, product feeds, and keyword policy

CATEGORY: This options will allow you to select a Program based on the "Category" e.g TRAVEL (note: it is possible to select multiple categories by clicking on the category while holding down the CTRL button.

2) Using the Link Matrix:
The Link Matrix is very useful if you know the program name(s) you wish to join. To view the Link Matrix:
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account
  • Click "Link Matrix" from the Home page (you will find this on the right-hand-side column under "Useful Tools".)
  • Select the Site name from the dropdown list.
  • A list of the advertisers programs will be displayed
To find information about an advertiser
  • In the "Link Matrix" click on the Program name, you will be redirected to the Program Settings page, where the commission information will be displayed.
  • To find out more information click on the "info" tab.
To obtain a basic tracking link, using the matrix:
  • In the "Link Matrix" click on "text link", here you will be presented with the basic tracking URL of the particular program with your site details. E.g http://clkuk.tradedoubler.com/click?p=3431&a =913664&g=17632" for Kelkoo.
To see the graphical elements, using the Link Matrix:
  • In the "Link Matrix" click on the "Program name" and you will be presented with the Program Settings.
  • At the top you will see buttons for "Apply" "Links" and "Info". Click on Links and you will be presented with the program creative options.
Deeplinking using the Link Matrix:
A deeplink will improve the chances of making a sale as it allows you to direct your website traffic to a specific page or product on the advertiser's website.
  • In the "Link Matrix scroll to an advertiser.
  • If the advertiser allows deeplinking, it will have "yes" in the Deeplinking column. Click "yes" to view the deeplinking instructions.

3) Using the Your Programs menu option:
This method is very useful when you wish to find programs which you have already applied to. It also allows you to view programs that are currently "under consideration", "on hold", "denied", "ended" or "ALL".
  • Login to your account and navigate to the Your Programs link (HOME >> REPORTS >> Your programs).
  • From the dropdown menus select the "website" and "status" and click "Run Report" button.

How do I apply to an affiliate program?

  • On the "Program settings" page click on the "Apply" tab.
  • Select your website from the "Site name" dropdown list.
  • Read the affiliate agreement, if you accept it check the 'I accept the agreement' box and click the "Apply for this program" button.

How do I get graphical elements (banners and links) for a program?

  • On the "Program settings" page click on the "Links" tab.
  • Click a "graphical element category" link.
  • In the table of graphical elements, under the column heading "Website status" you will see the links "show code" and "add to pools" - click the "show code" and a pop-up window will open.
  • Select the options you wish to use in the "show code" pop-up window (ensure that you select the correct website from the dropdown list in section 1)
  • Copy and paste the text in section 4 to your webpage.
NOTE: When you wish to add a text link, repeat steps 1- 2 then: Under the "Graphical element name" column in the table - click the "text link" and then click the "show code" link and continue to follow steps 4 - 5 above. Make sure you deselect the use cache prevention when doing this.

You can also get text links from banners by selecting the 'custom' option in the show code screen.

I have applied to a program a while ago, but my site is still "under consideration"!

Please contact the TradeDoubler support team via the "support form" if you have applied to a program more than 4 days ago, informing us which programs you had applied for and which websites (if you have more than one registered website) the application was made under.

How long does it take to get started?

It takes just a few minutes, the process is shown below:
  • Locate or search for your desired program.
  • Apply to this program - at this point your application will become "under consideration" and will be reviewed by the advertiser.
  • Select the graphical element you wish to use and finally copy and paste the snippet of code from the "show code" popup window onto your website.
You are able to add their banners and links to your website even before your website is "accepted" to a program, however if your site is later "denied", the commission will removed and not be paid by the advertiser, additionally the banners and links from your site will stop working.

How long does it take to be accepted for a program?

Your application should be assessed within 2-3 days. If you have not received an email from the advertiser within this time please contact the support team via the support contact form, informing us which website and program the application was made for.

How many programs can I join?

There is no limit to the number of programs that TradeDoubler affiliates can join. However, we recommend that you only select those programs that best suit your target audience.

My application to a program was denied can I re-apply?

Yes, you can re-apply once. In order to re-apply you need to add another site to your account. To do this:
  1. In your TradeDoubler account click "Settings"
  2. click "site information"
  3. click "register another site"
  4. complete your details again (please note that you should call the site Whatever2 so that you can distinguish it from the original in the drop-down box. For instance if your site name is ShoppingUK then calling the second site ShoppingUK2. (Naturally the url stays the same.)
  5. Navigate to the program you want to apply to again
  6. In the program settings page (APPLY) select your new site and apply again as usual.
NOTE: Please do not re-apply to a program if your site was "denied" and your commissions were removed.

Can I put up links to the advertiser before my application has been accepted?

Yes, for some of the advertisers you are able to access the "show code" pop-up window while your application is "under consideration".

After your application has been accepted and the sale confirmed the commission will be applied to your account, however if your application is "denied" any commissions you have generated up to this point will be removed from your account balance.

What happens if my Application is denied?

If your application has been "denied", you will not be able to link to the advertiser's website as your tracking links will no longer work.

If you generated commissions while your application was "under consideration" and your website was subsequently denied the commissions earned up to this point will not be paid out and will be returned to the advertiser.

Why might I not be approved as an affiliate?

The advertiser makes the decision to approve you or not as an affiliate. If the advertiser believes its brand should not be associated with the content on your web site, it has the right to deny your application. Other reasons from being denied could be due to incorrect account information or the website was not launched/ live.

Am I forced to continue as an affiliate, or can I remove a link when I want?

You can remove the link any time you choose, without prior notification.

How do I drop an advertisers program?

At present there is no functionality to drop advertisers/programs from your sites unless you delete the site in question. However if you delete the site you will lose all other advertiser relationships with that site as well.

If you wish to stop promoting an advertiser simply remove the banners and links from your website.

Why are Sales removed?

The most common reasons why a sale can be removed by an advertiser are:
  • The credit card used to make the purchase was fraudulent.
  • The credit card used was rejected by the bank.
  • The order placed was subsequently cancelled.
  • The goods were returned.
  • Commissions were generated while your website was "under consideration" for a program and then was subsequently "denied".

Gambling clients can remove sales if:
  • The punter has deposited funds but not gambled. If the punter gambles at a later date the sale will be awarded at this time provided it occurs within the cookie timeframe.
  • The punter has deposited funds and instantly withdrawn the funds including the match up bonus.
  • The punter has not fulfilled all the criteria; some gambling clients require punters to place several bets before the commission is reported back or placed a minimum deposit.

Why are Leads removed?

The most common reasons why a lead can be removed by an advertiser are:
  • The user may have supplied false contact details.
  • The user is not new and had already registered for the offer/product.
  • The leads generated from your website were determined to be "poor quality" or fraudulent.
  • You have generated commission while under consideration for a program and then been subsequently denied.

Can I register more than one website with TradeDoubler?

Yes, publishers should only have one TradeDoubler account; within this account you can add multiple registered website. You have two options:

1. You can register your sites separately and be able to track the performance of each website and analyse your transactions in greater detail. However you will have to re-apply to each program again.
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account
  • Click on "settings"
  • Click on "site information"
  • Click on "register new site" tab.
Ensure you have applied to the program(s) you wish to work on for each of your registered websites.

2. You can group all statistics together. Although this method does not allow you to analyse the performance of each of your websites, it is a quicker method as you do not need to re-apply to each program for each of our websites.
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account
  • Click on "settings"
  • Click on "site information"
  • Click on an existing site name, then in the pop-up click "edit"
  • Add any additional URLs in the "Site address" block. Enter your URLs on the single line, separated by commas with no spaces. You don't need to include every page, only the top level domains. e.g. http://www.mysite.com,http://www.mysecondsite.com

How do I know if I have been accepted?

To view the status of all of your applications, navigate to REPORTS >> Your programs. At the top of the page there are 2 dropdown lists, select your website name and "status" and select the "status" dropdown to "Accepted" and click "run report."

Do I need to apply to a program separately for each site within my account?

Yes, each of your registered sites has its own "id", to ensure your reports are accurate always ensure that you have applied to the program(s) you wish to work on for each of your separately registered websites.

How do I access an advertiser's "data feed" or "product feed"?

Product feeds contain information of the advertisers' products; by working with product feeds you can display these products on your own website. However they do require a high level of technical ability regarding XML, database programming and server-side scripting. To work with data feeds, please request that your site is enabled for this feature via the support contact form and we will contact your regarding this.

How can I close my account with TradeDoubler?

Before we can close your account we need to verify that you are the account holder. Please do one of the following:
  • Login to your account >> select SETTINGS >> account information >> delete account.

  • OR
  • If you are unable to login to your account please provide further details via email to support.uk@tradedoubler.com and request closure of your account with the following details: username, registered email and website.
Please note: if you have an existing balance (outstanding balance) in your account, you will loose this money if you close/delete your account.

Can I do PPC advertising for certain programs?

To find out If the advertiser allows PPC bidding and if they have any keyword bidding restriction in place, please view the details on the "info" tab of the "Program settings" page.

To access the program "info" page, login to your account and search for the program, click on the program name, and select the "info" link.

My website is "under construction" can I still apply to programs?

If your website is "under construction" you are still able to apply to programs. Please create a "temporary page" with information about your aims and goals of your website (the more information you can supply the more likely your application will be approved). Edit your "site information" so the advertiser can view this page:
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account
  • Click on "settings"
  • Click on "site information"
  • Click on the existing site name, then in the pop-up click "edit"
  • Update the "Site address" field with the link to the "temporary page" which goes into detail about your website.
  • Click the "Save" button.

Do I need a website to join TradeDoubler?

Not necessarily. If you intend to only focus on PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising through Google AdWords, Overture or similar you do not need to have a website.

If you are planning on only using PPC you will should register with Google.co.uk as your website, make sure you state clearly that you are doing PPC in the site description. Alternatively you can register your site with just a single landing page explaining what you intend to do so that the Advertisers can clearly understand what you are doing when reviewing your program applications.

How can I view a list of all programs?

The "Program directory" report provides a full list of the TradeDoubler advertisers, their logos and further information regarding the programs. To view this list:
  • Login to your TradeDoubler account
  • Click on "OTHER REPORTS" in the navigation menu
  • Click on "Program Directory"
Alternatively you can click on "List All Programs" below the search box once you login to your TradeDoubler account.
