EPUV is an acronym for "Earnings Per Unique Visitor". EPUV is the average earning for each Unique Visitor sent by affiliates who work on the above advertiser affiliate programs for the month of September.

Sales Targets

Did you know some advertisers on the TradeDoubler network offer performance incentive payments to reward you for achieving sales targets? Within this newsletter you will find tips and information on how to take advantage of this and maximise your commissions in the run-up to Christmas.


TIERED PROGRAMS! A WIN - WIN SITUATION

With strong competition in a variety of sectors, advertisers are aware of the need to offer you performance incentives to win your traffic and loyalty. Hence by offering tiered (also known as "segmented") commission structures you are rewarded with higher commission rates or bonuses for the increased sales you generate.

Some example segmented programs currently running are: (for more information about the segments please see the individual program "info" pages)

Sales volume
Privilege offer up to £35 per sale for car and home insurance sales and in addition to the structure below they are offering cash bonuses of 15 sales - £25 bonus, 25 sales - £50 bonus, 50 sales - £125 bonus!

Sales value
Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts new season's range offering cash bonuses of up to £500 during October. Below are the sales targets for the cash bonuses.

Other bonuses
John Lewis will give away £150 worth of John Lewis vouchers to the five publishers that see the highest increase in sales value during November. Minimum sales value = £300.00

By focusing on achieving the higher tiers now you will benefit from increased revenue during the key months ahead.

Case Study: In October you focus on 5 key advertisers and manage to generate enough sales to be moved from the general segment (5% commission) in to their top segment (10% commission) for November. Those 5 key advertisers may have generated you £500 commission in their general segment, now you are in the highest segment you have increased the value of every click by 100% having gone from 5% commission to 10% commission for all of those advertisers. Therefore the equivalent traffic you sent in October is now worth £10,000 in commissions.

Further Suggestions:
  • Consider if it will be worth spending extra money or resources now to benefit from the increase in commission rates.
  • Check that you are in the right segment for each program. Check the program "info" pages for your current commission segment and corresponding rate. If you are in a higher segment than the "general" segment the text in the "Your Programs" report will be highlighted by bold text.
  • Focus on driving traffic to key advertisers that are suitable to your market rather than promoting a wide selection of advertisers.
  • If you believe you could generate higher results in return for higher revenue, submit a proposal to the merchant in question via the support contact form.
  • Ensure that you are using the TradeDoubler tools available such as AdTool, Pools and product feeds alongside targeted pre-sales information to get the highest conversion rates and increase your sales.

ANALYSE YOUR STATISTICS

Bells
Sales Value or Average basket value.
To see the sales value you have created for an advertiser or the average basket value:

Navigate to the "Program Overview" report, select your "Affiliate" website, select the "Period" - last month (for example), ensure the column options: Imp, Click, UV, Leads, Sales amount, Sales, Sales value, and Total Com are selected and click "run report".

The sales value will be displayed under the same column, and the average basket value can be calculated by dividing the sales value by the number of sales made.

Your best converting programs
Conversion rates! If you are currently sending traffic to an advertiser which turns into sales then it may be worth focusing on this advertiser. To view the conversion rate figures run the same reports as above and ensure the "CR" option is selected.

The conversion rate is the number of sales / by the number of UVs (Unique visitors) X 100.

Note: Conversion rates will not be accurate if you have traffic errors or are doing PPC advertising without requesting your account to be enabled for the Keyword report.


Link and banner performance.
To find out which links or banners are out performing others use the "Graphical element report". This report will enable you to identify which creatives have the strongest call to action or CTR (click through rate) and identify which creatives to work with.

Navigate to the "Graphical element" report, select your "Affiliate" website, select the "Period" - last month (for example), ensure the column options: Program, Graphical element, Type, Size, Imp, Click, UV, CTR, Leads, Sales amount, Sales, CR, Total Com, Sales value are selected and click "run report".

CTR: Click Through Rate - calculated by the number of UVs(unique visitors) / Impressions X 100.

Note: if you are not using the "default" banner options the number of "impressions" displayed within the report may not be accurate.
